Okay, so, not to alarm anyone, but Tasty Toobs ARE returning and our tongues are swelling with salivation.
After the delicious, tomato-y, tangy snack rose to popularity in the 70’s, Toobs were a crowd fave. In 2001, Smiths decided to ditch them (*cough* rookie error). In 2007, the saucy dev was brought back to shelves as Tasty Toobs, BUT after a decline in sales, the snacks were once again stolen from stores in 2015. We’ve been played like a yo-yo and have ridden this emotional roller coaster, but guess what babes… we have hit the top!
According to news.com.au, they were recently sent a video by CMO of PepsiCo ANZ which said the following:
“It’s safe to say that we have been overwhelmed by the level of support amongst you guys for the return of Tasty Toobs. And it’s no surprise to us that Aussies have rated Tasty Toobs the number one product they most want back on supermarket shelves. And we’ve been working on it for a while now and there have certainly been some challenges,” Vandita Pandey, explained in the clip.
Pandley went on to announce, “But thanks to your passion and persistence, we’re really excited to let you know that we’re bringing back Toobs.”
HALLELUJAH! Can we get a round of applause for News.com.au!?
