Taste testing the BEST low-calorie snacks...

We decided we’d had enough junk food during lockdown (shock, horror). Yes, all the binge-eating and uncontrolled wine pouring has left us feeling a little… sluggish. So, we decided to look for some low-calorie alternatives for our favourite midnight snacks.

FroPro Singles

We were sincerely shocked by the deliciousness that came from the salted caramel variety of Fro-Pro’s single ice-creams on a stick. The creamy, texture of this ice-cream was absolutely on point. The dark chocolate coating made us feel naughty and a little guilty as our minds questioned the accuracy of this ‘low calorie’ claim. Total 10/10.

Paddle Pops

We’re beginning to think that ice-cream may be the easiest snack to lower your calorie count… fine by us! According to Lauren Simpson (aka fitness queen and our #fitspo), Streets chocolate Paddle Pops only contain 79 calories per serve with rainbow sitting at 90 calories, so we ate two.

Fibre One 90 Calorie Bars

As the name would suggest, these gooey, fudge brownies contain only 90 calories. The rumours are true, you can have brownies while dieting!

Cadbury Cake Bars

Cadbury Cake Bars

With only 85 calories per bar, at this point, we’re starting to call bullshit. Cadbury and low-calorie are a few of words that never belong in the same sentence. But alas, these chocolate bars of sweetness make for a delicious mid-night snack and are totally approved by us.

Lcm Coco Pops

LCMs Coco Pops Bars

As a childhood cult classic, we were excited that LCMs Coco Pops narrowly scraped into our midnight low-calorie snack list. There’s honestly nothing better than munching down a nostalgic treat in the middle of the night!
