We’ve made it, friends! It’s the final days of 2021 and it’s about damn time we to put this dumpster-fire year behind us! It’s time to let your hair down, clock-off for the year and get down to the serious stuff – glittery outfits, selfie sticks and of course, champagne. If you haven’t already, it’s time to start planning how to ring in, what will hopefully be a new and better year.
This year, Melbourne will be coming to life and turning into one big street part-ay.We welcome back the ability to celebrate in almost every way possible. You can take your pick of parties, outdoor events, dinners, dances, drone shows and so much more. If you’re a little more reserved (or want to skip the crowds because #covid) house gatherings are completely (finally) legal! Call your friends, crack out the top shelf booze and start celebrating.
If you’re a true party animal, we will see our beloved city’s iconic firework show return, after a very dull 2021 hiatus! To ensure COVID safety protocols are adhered to, the official fireworks will be a ticketed event and will have four celebration zones which include Flagstaff Gardens, Treasury Gardens, Alexandra Gardens and Docklands.
We will also see more than 300 drones light up the Docklands skyline above Victoria Harbour, in an epic display of colours and shapes. This show will be the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, so it’s definitely one you do not want to miss.
We’re doing New Year’s Eve with a bang like never before!
We’re bringing Australia’s largest drone swarm to Docklands for the most spectacular aerial show. This is on top of fireworks and Street Feasts. This is going to be one to remember.

However you choose to celebrate, remember that you are amazing and you deserve to acknowledge that you’ve made it through the past 2 years of complete and utter chaos. *Virtual hi-5 besties.*
*These events will be COVID-safe. They are ticketed and will operate at a limited capacity. Participants will need to be fully vaccinated and have proof of vaccination.
