Instagram has finally rolled out one of the most requested features on the app: the ability to reorder your profile grid. That means your posts no longer have to sit in strict posting order forever, which is huge news for anyone who has ever deleted and reposted content just to make their feed look less chaotic.

The feature began rolling out on 8 June 2026 and is available in the Instagram app on iPhone and Android.

The update is simple, but the impact is very real. You can now long-press any post on your profile, tap Reorder grid, then drag and drop posts into the order you want.

Changes save automatically. Pinned posts still stay at the top, but everything else can be moved around.

How to reorder your Instagram grid

  1. Open the Instagram app

  2. Go to your profile

  3. Press and hold any post

  4. Tap Reorder grid

  5. Drag posts into the order you want

  6. Let go and Instagram saves the new layout automatically

For creators, brands and anyone mildly obsessive about aesthetics, this is a very big deal. Your grid can finally reflect your brand, campaign or current era without having to sacrifice old likes, comments or your sanity. Frankly, it took long enough.
