Brisbane Fashion Festival turns 21 this month with its biggest lineup yet

The Hancock Prospecting NEXTGEN Group Show puts graduating design students from Queensland's top fashion colleges in front of an industry crowd that actually matters, and organisers say First Nations talent is getting genuine focus this year, not a token nod tacked onto the program.

The W Brisbane Fashion Show closes out the week with a lineup built for resort and occasionwear season, featuring Silk Laundry, Perri Cutten, Garry Bigeni and Kidman Clothing. Expect tailoring with real structure and pieces you could actually wear past the afterparty, rather than one season wonders built purely for the runway.

Five straight days of shows is a big ask for any city to sustain, but Brisbane has clearly decided it wants to be taken seriously as a fashion capital rather than the place everyone flies through on the way to a beach holiday.
