Musk responded on X that she "was never offered that and has a history of making false claims."

The two share a child, Romulus, and are currently in the middle of a custody dispute, which makes the timing of this particular public spat feel less like a coincidence and more like a strategy. Nothing moves a narrative faster than a specific dollar figure and a festival red carpet.

What makes this one interesting is how verifiable the claim is, at least in theory. An NDA offer of that size and structure either exists on paper somewhere or it does not. Musk's flat denial and St Clair's specific numbers cannot both be entirely accurate, and normally that kind of gap gets settled quietly through lawyers rather than played out across TMZ headlines and a Venice press tour.

It also fits a familiar pattern. Musk has spent years disputing claims from former partners and associates in public, usually via a quick post rather than a formal statement, and St Clair's decision to go to the press instead of pursuing this privately suggests she is not expecting a quiet resolution either.

For now, it is one person's word against a man who has never once in his public life been shy about firing back. Whether documents eventually surface to settle it is genuinely unclear.
