Olivia Rodrigo dropped her third album on 12 June, and TikTok has not recovered.

"you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love" arrived after months of anticipation following the April single "Drop Dead" – which had already clocked over 121,000 TikTok posts and inspired a wave of how-we-fell-in-love carousels before the album even existed.

Then the full record landed, and the internet discovered it was not the upbeat pop moment people expected from "Drop Dead." Most of it is about love laced with anxiety, disillusionment and the particular sadness of being in a relationship and still feeling off. The reaction has been predictably unhinged, in the best way.

"Begged" went viral on TikTok weeks before the album even dropped, after a recording of Rodrigo performing it live on SNL circulated. By release day, there were already established trends waiting for the studio version.

TikTok and Olivia Rodrigo's team leaned into it. The platform launched a dedicated "LiviesHQ" hub in-app, complete with album-inspired visuals, exclusive profile frames, behind-the-scenes content and collaborative unlocks fans could work toward together. It is a fully engineered fan ecosystem, and it worked.

The album has hit over 300 million streams. For brands, the content opportunity is real: Rodrigo's lyric-overlay trend format is one of the most accessible and high-performing carousel structures on TikTok right now, and the audio is everywhere. If the sound fits your niche, the window to ride the wave is still open.
